Farewell to an old Friend
The xbox was a good friend. It brought tons of joy to me through Halo, DOA, Splinter Cell, and many other entertaining games. But I am sad to say that little box suffers from disk read error problems. Yes, i can still resurrect it, however, with the xbox 360 just around the corner, I believe its time to let go. So with these final words i say thank you xbox for bringing me so much joy over these past years.

Good Movie good Game makes Great Sequel
Yes! It has been confirmed. The computer world where Alan Bradley was abducted into in the 1982 Disney movie Tron, will now be a featured world in Kingdom Hearts 2. With the addition of Mulan, Pirates of the Caribbean, the Lion King, and now Tron, this game's wait is definitely worth it. Can't wait to play.

College Life: Bored and Failing
It's been exactly one month and 23 days since I started my life at UCSB. Now with the first quarter of college coming to a close, my grades are horrible and my daily life is unfulfilled. My daily source of news on gaming, media, and anything tech has come to a halt, not due to anything eventful happening, but because I have become lazier that ever. Hopefully, now that the finals I failed are over, I can find something interesting to rant about instead of doing nothing in the 5th floor lounge of San Nic.....

Apple moves to Intel chips
YES, what we thought would never happen is actually going to happen. It seems that Apple is ditching IBM and going to start making intel chips. It is said to be officially announced at the worldwide developers conference comming up. I noticed that Apple's stock has been down, with the low demand of Ipods and the class action lawsuits and what not. I wonder if this is Jobs attempt to get sales up again.

E3 Part 1: Consoles
Ok ok, its been a long time since i have posted anything, my apologies. But as most of you people know, is that E3 occurred this week. So if you haven't heard, sony microsoft and nintendo released there new consoles, durring the E3 press conference check em out:
Playstation 3
Let me just say WOW. Sony is really putting all they can out there on this next gen console. The hardware alone is amazing. Also the graphics are outsanding; the use of real time over CG is overwhealming. The only thing im worried about is how many studios will support the Blue ray disks, it seems that the studios are splite between blue ray and HDDVD. So here are the specs:
- It will support Blu-ray disks, DVD±R/W, CD-R/RW
- Backwards compatability to both the PS2 and PS
- One 3.2GHz Cell processor—total system performance rated at 2.18 teraflops
- 256MB system RAM 3.2GHz, and 256MB GDDR VRAM at 700MHz
- Memory Stick Duo slot, and SD and CF slots
- Bluetooth support with up to seven wireless controllers
- Six USB system ports
Xbox 360
So most of you people probably knew that the next gen Xbox was release announce a week before E3 on MTV, because all the true gaming fanboys love MTV. Durring their press conference, it seemed as they were trying to reach towards a different market. They preached that you can buy stuff on Xbox Live and use it to set up a business... yeah...idont get it either. They didn't try to shoot towards the hardcore gammers. Also I was dissapointed that I didn't see a new Halo game for a launch title for this new system. With this, i still believe that the Xbox will still be the best selling console for online gamming, that is a given, especially with the new console you can transfer your Xbox live account to the 360. Anyways here are the specs:
- Support for DVD-video, DVD-Rom, DVD-R/RW, CD-DA, CD-Rom, CD-R, CD-RW, WMA CD, MP3 cd, JPEG photo CD
- Customizable face plates to change appearance
- Support for 4 wireless controllers
- 3 symmetrical cores at 3.2 GHz each
- 512 MB GDDR3 RAM
Nintendo Revolution
So Nintendo's press conference went really well... well really quick I should say. Not too much information was released about this new console during the conference. There were no information about any games being realeased and there was no controller displayed, which makes me think that Nintendo will come up with another fancy controller liket the the 64 and gamecube. So this is what we know:
- All-Access Gaming, which refers to backwards compatibility to 20 years of Nintendo games, NES, SNES, N64. We don’t know particulars
- Downloadable to 512MB of flash memory
- SD memory card slot
- Wireless controllers
- Two USB 2.0 ports
- Built-in WiFi
- WiFi used to interface with the DS

The Hitchhikers Guide to The Galaxy
The movie is finaly out!!!!!!!! So I of course went to go see it on opening day.
So the movie is about this guy named Arthur Dent and his friend Ford Perfect, who is actually and alien. The earth is destroyed and Ford helps Arthur survive in the galaxy with a book called the Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy. As you know, the movie is based and the best selling novel by Douglas Adams. The movie itself was awesome: it was really funny, especially for English people, me being a person who hates English humor. The movie doesn't follow the book exactly, but what movie does. Im hoping that they make a movie adaptation to more of Douglas' novels. Overall this is a very funny movie, and would recomend reading the book before seeing the movie. I definately recomend that everyone see this movie, because everyone loves the fact that the answer to the universe is a mere number.

First 48: Loveless
Today I watched Loveless, but am still kind of confused over what I just watched. Aoyagi Rikka is in the 6th grade. His older brother was killed two years ago. One day a mysterious person named Agamtsuma Sobi appears. He asks Rikka to become the new Sacrifice to avenge his brothers death. So this is the basic storyline so far, BUT WAIT, it seems that this is a Shounen Ai, which involves a relationship between Rikka and Sobi. But it seems that Sobi was asked by Rikka's older brother to "Love" him; also it seems that Sobi and Loveless, Rikka's real name, grow stronger along side their so called love.
Ok so the slight homosexuality of this whole show kind of caught me off guard. To me it seems that Sobi is very similar Kaoru, from Evangelion, except Sobi has reasoning behind what he is doing. If you are able to get behind this confusing relationship, the story to this is actually quite decent. I cant really oppose nor recommend this series to you people because the story hasn't really progressed yet. What I will recommend is that you watch the first two episodes. If your are able to get behind the obvious and focus on the story line, then keep watching the series, it might get better. I will keep watching this series and give you my full opinion at the end of the series (note this is only a 12 ep series).
For more info on the series go to Animenfo

A Hitchhikers Anticipation
So we are all anticipating the new movie The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, based off the top selling novel from Douglas Adams. I know i am re-reading the book before it is release in thaters. But the answer that we all want to know is will the movie stand up to the book? We have all seen movies based on novels, so what does this movie have to offer? AintItCool.com’s Drew McWeeny stated on Attack of the Show that "although hardcore Hitchhiker’s fans will inevitably face some disappointment, he liked what he saw" So for the most part, if you read the book, which is prolly recomended before attempting to see this movie, then you will love the movie, although it doesn't stand up to the book's expectations, which is predicted from a movie adaptation of the book. I know that i am definately going to see this movie when released on April 29th.

!!!Bleach on the PSP!!!
Yes yes, we all know Bleach. First the manga, then the show, and now Bleach can played on the go. Thats right Bleach: Beat the Soul is now on the Sony PSP. Its cell shaded 3-D look, similar to the Naruto Gekitou Ninja Taisen series, visually holds the same look as the show. If it is anything like the show, this game looks promising. I'm definately gonna import this game. I'll give you a full review on Bleach when I get my hands on it.

First 48
From manga to Japanese broadcast, screenplay to movie, bigscreen to DVD, concept art to fully published video game, I am proud to bring you the First 48, where I look at the first 48 minutes, of the newest media, including Anime, video games, TV shows, movies, and much more.
Tsubasa Chronicle
Today we look at the newest show for CLAMP called Tsubasa Chronicle. CLAMP is know for there very unique art style that is seperate from all other shows. Such shows include: Card Captors Sukura, Angelic Layer, Magic Knight Rayearth, and Chobits. The story is about a young man Syaoran who returns from archaeology. He is greeted by his old childhood friend, Princess Sakura. She meets Syaoran at the ruins where her latent powers become active and wings appear as a mysterious person attempts to kidnap her. Syaoran prevents Sakura from being taken, but now Sakura is unconscious and her memories appear to be gone. The priest-mage Yukito sends Syaoran across space and time to another universe where Yuuko resides on Earth in Japan. He also meetsKurogane, a powerful ninja and Fai, a powerful mage and creator of Chii in his world. They venture off with Mokona, a critter who can locate Sakura's feathers and and open gates to other worlds.
The first 48 minutes of this series shows great potential. The storyline is very incredible. Also, the score thoughout the show is amazing; it is done by Kajiura Yuki, who has worked with Bee Train before in many other great shows such as the .hack series. As stated from eintastesgood,
"damn fine it has makota in it and has mad potential due to the massiveness of the clamp universe angelic layer anyone?" Overal this show has really great story, visually amazing to look at, and the score outstanding. I would definately recomend watching this show.
You can download the show via bittorrent at animesuki
